Ceren Olpak She was born in Ankara in 1981. She completed her primary, middle and high school education in İzmir. She attended to the writing seminars of Uğur Mumcu Journalism Foundation (Umag) in 1999. In 2006, she graduated from the Department of Dramatic Writing, in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dokuz Eylül University with her thesis “Republican Period Intellectual in the Social and Historical Development and a Play”. In 2010, she received her MA from the Department of Stage Arts in Dokuz Eylül University with her thesis, “Progressivists and Reactionists as a Dramatical Element in the Plays of Republican Period and its Reflection on Plays”. She started to work on her PhD in the same department in 2011, she is stil a student in the department.

She received KASAİD Women’s Plays and Short Stories award with her play, “The Day is Heavy with My Mother” in 2004. She worked as a scriptwriter for Cine Plus Agency in a project of adapting Ömer Seyfettin’s short stories into cartoons (6 episodes were broadcasted in TRT1 in 2009). In 2009 she wrote the script of the documentary “Documentary of the Poet of Independence, Mehmet Akif Ersoy” for TRT2 (It was broadcasted as three episodes). She worked as a scriptwriter in many TV programmes.

Her radio play “Excitement and Deliria” was vocalized in TRT Ankara Radio in 2010. Her Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil’s novel adaptation “Blue and Black” and her original plays, “The Day is Heavy with my Mother”, “I Have Your Permition” and “Excitement and Deliria” have been put on stage by Natioanl Theatre and İstanbul City Theatre. Her short stories and articles have been published in many journals since 2008. Her plays were published by MitosBoyut publishing house in 2007.
