She was born in Trabzon. After completing her high school education at Kültür College, she studied English Language Teaching at Marmara University. She did her MA degree, writing a thesis titled “ Foucault Feminizmin Dostu mudur yoksa Düşmanı mı?” under the supervision of Büşra Ersanlı at Marmara University, Department of Political Science and International Relations.
After teaching English at Yeditepe University for five years, she started to work in the media sector. She worked as a reporter and an editor at the ELLE magazine for three years. She was a columnist for Milliyet's “Cadde” supplement. She was the editor of the “Style Corner” of the “Cumartesi-Pazar” program which was broadcast at CNN Turk.
She published her novel Bir Dilek Tut in 2011. She deals with women’s search for justice through the intersecting stories of four characters named Hande, Nilüfer, Cemile and Ayşe, through their struggles with solitude and escape to love.
