Nalan Tuntaş Born in Izmir in 1955, Nalan Tuntaş spent most of her childhood in Söke. She graduated from the literature department in İzmir American High School for Girls in 1975. Her grandfather was Kazım Karabekir's officer-in-command. She was well-known for her book Zor Yıllar that tells the life story of her grandfather. She also has books titled Arşipel’in Çocukları, Cahide, and Gölge Kadın, which portrays the loneliness in the society. Nalan Tuntaş is a member of the board of directors of AKKÖY Kültür-Sanat-Edebiyat-Turizm ve Geliştirme Derneği, and Edebiyatçılar Derneği.
