She was born in 1958 in Konya. She completed her primary and middle school education in the same city. After the age of fifty, she completed her university education which she started in 1976 but could not continue due to the prohibiton of headscarves in the universities. She graduated from the Faculty of Law in Ankara University. Her first articles were published in 1974, in Milli Gazete. Her short stories appeared in many newspapers and magazines, such as Zaman, Merhaba, Vakit, Gözyaşı, Yeşilay, Hüner and Mektup.She worked as a daily columnist in the newspaper, Merhaba (1993-95). Her short stories which were published in the Zaman newspaper were collected in three books. The main theme of her works is that people are born in order to make themselves and other people happy. In some of her works, she used the penname, “Fatma Rumeysa”.
She reflected her despair about the political polarization in the country onto her works. She objectively depicts the pains of a society that is overwhelmed by the contradictions. She is also interested in painting. With her works of oil painting she has participated in group exhibitions since 1988. She is a member of Konya Benefactors Society, Intellectuals Club and the Writers Union of Turkey.
