Saniye Hanım

She was born in Trabzon in 1836. Her father is Katipzade Emin Efendi. She married Tuzcuzade Sırrı Efendi. She was trained by her father on poetry. She used both the syllabic meter and "aruz" successfully in her works. Her works are therefore close to the Folk Poetry as much as Classical Ottoman poetry. She had enough poems to compose a divan, but most of her works were in a fire. She died in 1905.
