Tanseli Polikar

Emine Tanseli Polikar was born in 1948 as the daughter of Hamdiye Müjgan Hanım and Ahmet Sami Bey. She graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Literature at Istanbul University (1970). She lived in England for a period. She worked as a philosophy teacher at Gelibolu, Istanbul Anatolian and Mithatpaşa Girls’ Vocational and Technical High Schools. She retired in 1995.

She published her short stories, articles and translations in journals such as Detay, İnsancıl, Dünya Book Supplement, Düşler Öyküler, Yaşasın Edebiyat and Berfin Bahar. She gave talks at Kadıköy Book Days and led panel discussions.

She is a member of Turkish Writers’ Union. She lives in Istanbul and she is married.
