Tevhide Hanım

She was born in 1847. Her father is Turgutlulu Limoncuzade Fehim Efendi, her mother is the daughter of İzmirli Sinanzade Ahmet Efendi, Tahire Hanım. She married Manisalı Çakmak Hüseyin Efendi and the couple had a daughter. After the passing of her daughter and her husband, Tevhide Hanım entered the Mevlevi sect. Her poetry is influenced by her losses. She has a divan, which is thought to have been composed in 1881. It bears the traces of Manisa and her life. Her importance comes from her representation of the geography, people, culture and daily habits of her time. She passed away in 1902 in Manisa. Her divan was prepared by Gürol Pehlivan, Bülent Bayram and Mehmet Veysi Dörtbudak and published with the support of Manisa Municipality.
