Vicdan Efe

She was born in 1964, in Istanbul. She studied Economics. She lives in Izmir. She published her short stories in the journals; Damar, Üçüncü Öyküler, Türk Dili, Edebiyat Gündemi, Agora, Gediz, Kıyı, Yaba Öykü, Beşparmak, Hece Öykü, Özgür Edebiyat, Notos, Lacivert, Sincan İstasyonu and Şiiri Özlüyorum. She also published short stories in the internet magazine Anafilya in Holland and in the newspapers Merhaba and Mozaik in Germany. She published articles in journals. Many of her short stories were published in various short story anthologies.

She received honourable mention with Tambur Ağıtları at Orhan Kemal Short Story Awards in 2001. In 2002, she received the success award in the short story competition on "Stories of People on the Streets," organised by the literary journal, Yaba and her work was included in the competition book published later. In 2004, her short story, "Gülbiye" came second at the "Samim Kocagöz Short Story Competition." She also came second at Anafilya journal's competition with her story, "Eriyik Bir Hayat." Also in 2004, her collection Sen de Topla Düşlerini received the Jury Award of Kocaeli Higher Education Association and with the same book, she came third at Sabit İnce competition.
